Children’s book writer: My first picturebook was published in 1990 by Mál og menning. From there on I have written a number of picturebooks, at times in collaboration with other writers.
Illustrator: After graduation from college I studied art and illustration. Ever since I have worked as an artist and illustrator, working on my own books, illustrating texts by others, drawing for newspapers, magazines and various media.
Graphic designer: After a year of art studies in The Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts in Reykjavík, (later Iceland Academy of the Arts) I went to Copenhagen and studied illustration and graphic design at Skolen for Brugskunst – The Danish Design School (later The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts – The School of Design) from where I graduated after four years study. I have designed my own books, designed book covers, posters, booklets, exhibitions in museums, etc.
Playwright and stage designer: I have written three children’s plays for Kúlan, The National Theater of Iceland Children’s Stage. I did stage design for two of the plays.
Book artist: In my art I often work with paper, text and images, making unik books by hand. I have participated in numerous exhibitions in Iceland and abroad, exhibiting book art, illustrations and children’s books.
