Ghassan Suleiman Amhaz holds vast experience in journalism and public relations and is acknowledged for his understanding and deep knowledge about the history of aviation in the region.
He worked as a journalist at Al Bayan, a leading Arabic newspaper of the UAE, from 1981 to 1998, during which time he covered the aviation industry extensively and witnessed firsthand the dramatic expansion of Dubai International Airport over a period of 30 years.
In August 1998, his career pursuits brought him to the Marketing and Corporate Communications Department of what was at that time the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation (now known as Dubai Airports).
His research-based authoritative book, Civil Aviation in Dubai – History and Future (1937-2020) was the first Arabic book of its kind on the aviation sector when it was launched in March 2011 by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The English edition, titled From the Creek to the Skies, was released by H. H Sheikh Ahmed during the Dubai Airshow 2011. He also wrote a series of books in Arabic about the Art of Children with Special Needs and Environment, as well as a first-of-its-kind book about the UAE's Federal National Council (FNC) elections in Dubai.
