: Victims of kidnapping suffer from the impact of traumatic stress. Their cognitive processing, judgment, and decision-making abilities may shut down. Nevertheless, there is a survival skill inside any person. The author illustrates a case study of an, 11 year old boy that was kidnapped by two veiled and armed men who asked for a ransom. The victim’s father paid the ransom without police supervision. Through building a strategy including meetings with the family, negotiating skills with the kidnappers, no ransom was paid. Later, kidnappers were captured. Gradually, with the involvement in multiple psychological therapy meetings the victim was releasing pain.
