This new anthology of poetry by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum comprises fifty two extracts, or ‘flashes’ from his full-length works. Translated from Arabic and rendered into English by Kamal Abdel-Malek and Frank Dullaghan, the poems speak of life and love, triumphs and trials and celebrate the richness of humanity. This colourful collection serves as an introduction not only to Sheikh Mohammed’s poetry but also to the philosophy and values behind the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
